HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!! I hope you are having a fantabulous time over in bangla...but at the same time I feel like summer and Christmas at the bay will be sub-par without your smiling face! I don't know how to blog. I don't even text message! Gah! Sorry. Pressure to write something good is mounting on me. Oh, and also it's Friday at 8:30 PM and I'm still at work and have to come in for Memorial Long Weekend. Noooooo! But that's okay. Because unlike where you are, I'm actually making a difference. You know, saving CEOs one company at a time...
Anyway, how are you? (Wait I really don't know how to blog - can you even reply? Is this like E-mail?) So, quickly, on my end - DC couldn't be lovely-ier. The weather is freakin' awesome. Not as cool as San Fran - I was there with friends for a long weekend at the beginning of the year and bought a lot of vintage records and bracelets and drank beer on the sand and sang spice girl songs (not in your jeep) but on the mountain top like Maria Von Trapp. And then people stared and pointed and then I stopped. I don't think I remember the last time standing on the mountain and seeing the ocean. That's like getting two in one. But I'm sure since December you've seen amazing things and hope you got to travel a bit and then, well, DC doesn't compare.
Last minute things that I need to tell you - Marion Cottilard - the french actress in La Vie en Rose - won best actress at the Oscar's this year! And, Brangelina are having twins.
Ok. - well I will definitely write again so don't worry, you haven't heard the last of me! Oh, wait one more thing - I got a new pro bono case - a human trafficking case! So happy!

remember how you used to do nothing but be yourself and turn my entire week around when we saw each other at tuttle lounge committee meetings? and how you did pretty much the same thing, every time i saw you, every place i saw you, for the rest of your time at u.va? i sure miss that ;-)

I am back in the US, enjoying shopping at Trader Joe's, sleeping in a comfy bed and looking forward to surprising my parents next week who think I am still in Asia.
Speaking of Asia, how go things in Bangladesh..i visited that fine country on April 19th for an hour, when my plane from bangkok to Paro, Bhutan touched down in Dhaka for an hour. Sigh, so close yet so far away. I hope your teaching gig is energizing, inspiring, not too tiring or frustrating. Remember how courageous and brave you are, how much I admire you and to have faith it will all work out as it should.
